Program Coordinator Position

Part Time Position, Hours and Days may vary.

 

Job description: 

The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, coordination, implementation, and
delivery of programs, activities, and events associated with the Family Support Center (FSC) Grant and the
Marion County Family Resource and Support Network. This position works collaboratively with agency staff,
executive staff, families, community partners, and other stakeholders to support program goals and promote
family enrichment, engagement, education, and connection within the community.
The Program Coordinator assists with planning and coordinating family-focused activities and educational
opportunities, building and maintaining positive relationships with families and community partners, and
supporting the effective delivery of programs and services. The position also assists with program-related
activities, outreach, documentation, and other duties necessary to meet organizational and grant requirements.
This position may also be required to attend meetings, trainings, community events, and other activities on
behalf of the Family Support Center Grant, as directed by the FSC Grant Program Director or Agency CEO, in
support of grant-related objectives and organizational responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Sociology, Human Services, Family Studies, or a related field
is preferred. An Associate degree combined with relevant education, training, or experience will also be
considered. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered based
on the needs of the position.
Applicants will be evaluated based on a combination of education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills,
demonstrated abilities, and the ability to effectively work with children, parents, caregivers, families, and
community partners.
Preference may be given to applicants with experience in parenting education, family support, family
engagement, community outreach, program coordination, or working directly with families and children.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  - In collaboration with agency staff, help develop, participate in, and/or host child- and family-friendly
    activities both in the office and the community
- Participate and attend the Monthly FRN Collaborative Meetings
- Meet with individuals, parents and families at the Family Support Center
- Provide intake, screening, and referrals for families seeking services through the MCFR&SN
- Meet with parents and families at the MCFR&SN when needed to assess needs and offer support.
- Schedule, organize and host program events, meetings, and workshops, including preparing agendas and
   materials as directed
- Conduct research on community needs, trends, and available resources to help guide program planning.
- Assist the agency staff in organizing family engagement activities.
- Conduct community surveys and needs assessments to help build program development.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to assist with programs and special events.
- Record, track, and report data related to community needs, program attendance, and event outcomes.

 - Assist in creating program materials such as brochures, flyers, newsletters, and social media content to
   promote agency programs.
- Ensure compliance with all program-related regulations, policies, and guidelines.
-Other related duties as assigned by the FSC Grant Director or agency CEO.

 

Work Environment and Requirements:
- Non-smoking environment
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a multi-person office setting
- Must have reliable transportation
- Criminal background check required
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evening hours, weekends and holidays as required

 

Travel Requirements:
- Occasional local, statewide, and regional travel as necessary.
